As we contemplate the kickoff of the Unshackled Leadership teleseminar series, 2013: Roadmap to Success Coaching Program, and what will be covered in that, the following quote came to mind:

People are just as happy as they make up their minds to be”.  Abraham Lincoln

This is a powerful statement.  Your attitude can make or break almost any situation.  Changing your attitude can change your life.  A positive attitude generates positive energy and attracts great things to you.  You know people who good things just always seem to come their way?  They seem to be happy and have a handle on their life.  People like being around them. The beauty is you can consciously choose to have a positive attitude and to respond positively to almost any event or situation.

A simple and power-packed tool to help you have a positive attitude and reap the benefits is GRATITUDE.  Being truly grateful for what is already present in your life will automatically and effortlessly attract even more good into your life.  You’ve probably heard of the Law of Attraction.  When you’re grateful, these emotions are of the highest vibrational frequency and you attract even more to be thankful for.  Step it up a little and try being grateful for even the difficult and challenging things in your life.  These situations often help us experience the most profound spiritual and emotional growth, so be grateful.  Shift the energy.  Gratitude presupposes you are blessed.  It shifts your focus from what you don’t want to what you want.

You can get an even more powerful kick out of gratitude by being grateful for what you want ahead of time, before you get it.  When you give thanks as if you’ve already received what you want, you are signaling to the Universe that you already have it and this raises the level of your positive energy even more, right now.

ACTION #1:  Start each day by writing down what you want in this sentence, “I’m so happy and grateful now that …….” filling in what you want.  Write them in your Gratitude Journal.

ACTION #2:  Keep a daily Gratitude Journal.  This is an essential and valuable tool in your awareness and growth.  List 5 things you are grateful for on this particular day.  Keep it short and simple.  It works well for people to do this in the evening before bed. Think about the day’s events – all the good things that happened, even the challenges can be appreciated.  Select the 5 things, people, or events that you are most grateful for.  It can be as simple as the cool breeze from the ocean or the sun on your face.  It can be your big promotion.  Really allow yourself to FEEL grateful.  Smile and give thanks.

ACTION #3:  Do an experiment with this power packed tool, GRATITUDE, and see how your overall attitude and energy shift. It can be life changing. Start today!  Let me know what you find.
