Do you know how to play the game of business to win?

The world is changing rapidly, and businesses are too. People are dealing with a global economy, ever increasing competition from around the world, and a constantly changing playing field. According to the Small Business Administration, 90% of all start-ups fail within the first 10 years and most companies never reach their full potential. And as you’ve heard me say before, according to the latest Gallup poll, 7 out of 10 American workers are either “checked out” or actively disengaged.

The consequence of all this change is that the most dominant emotion today is fear. People just don’t know where to turn and what to do to have some peace, and confidence in their future.

The basic reason for all of this is simple. People who start or run companies think that the key to success is to have a great product or service, good branding, an effective marketing plan and a good team of people. While all of these factors are surely important, they are simply not enough. Unless you know exactly how the game of business is played and how to play it to win, you won’t. And the evidence is that well over 90% don’t know how the game is played, let alone how to play to win.

Whatever you think of him, Donald Trump is a great example of someone who knows how to play the game to win. Same with Bill Gates, Warren Buffett, etc. These people are not smarter than the rest of us, they just understand some principles that if others knew, they could easily be as successful.

So the question is: are there tried and true, timeless, unchanging principles that if you understand and apply, success must follow? The answer is: yes!

For over 30 years, my company has taught hundreds of company leaders how the game of business actually works and how to play the game to win so that they can sleep at night knowing success is assured. They have learned what it takes, year in and year out, no matter what is happening in the world economy, to have an outrageously successful company. They have discovered that success has very little to do with what you do, what you know and how hard you work. Truly successful leaders understand certain principles and use them to outperform the competition.
